Now I can tell you a little secret ... It was due to my daughter that crochet first became an important part in my life. You know when you have one of those really enthused mornings and you rush out of the house ready to conquer your day in one single motion. Yeah you know the feeling ... well I rushed out with my three year old daughter ready to get her the next best thing educational toy ...
Well I got that great toy for her and rushed home to get dinner ready ... my Mom was coming round for dinner it being Saturday night and all. Leaving our little one playing with her great new educational toy I got on with dinner. Soon Mom arrived and our little one was all over her granny and particularly into that big handbag Mom always carried around ...
Well in that bag was a great little crocheted snowman ... and that was it ... our daughter was in heaven ... Educational toy was shoved aside and the snowman was the coolest thing ever ... Well I just could not believe it ... educational toy had been trumped. More to the point I had been trumped ... time to learn to crochet right now ...
It was then that all my childhood memories came flooding back ... My Mom taught crochet for ages to many who wanted to learn the art ... Who better to be taught by ... In the years that my Mom taught crochet the instructions for each project were hand written in the form of patterns ... each row described ... the crochet stitches used ... 5 rows of double crochet ... two rows of single crochet ...
Was there a better way to deliver crochet instructions other than static pictures and printed patterns? Oh hell yeah ! Duh! Video had to be the way ... It could be better than the crochet instructions delivered in those crochet classes ... you have the advantage of being able to replay ... replay ... replay ... fantastic
